About Ambassador Hotel
Brighton's beach, the Brighton Centre and a good spread of pubs and restaurants are all within easy reach of the Ambassador Hotel, making New Steine a handy base for exploring the city on foot. Walkers and cyclists have routes close at hand, while golf, fishing and watersports are all available nearby for those wanting to venture a little further.
The hotel itself has 24 rooms, including family options, all with en-suite bathrooms and in-room drinks. Free WiFi runs throughout, and luggage storage is on hand for early arrivals or late departures. It's a straightforward setup rather than a polished one - some rooms show their age and could do with more regular upkeep.
Staff are generally friendly, though service can be patchy at times. What the Ambassador Hotel does deliver reliably is its position: close to the seafront, the entertainment on offer in the city centre, and the restaurants and bars that make Brighton worth visiting in the first place.

DONT BOOK- you’re better off staying in a tent. Room was filled with black mould, now have a chesty cough. Double bed was broken, it’s warped in the middle obviously due to excessive use and not updated their mattresses in years and years. Now my neck and back is destroyed. Could not sleep properly at all. Absolutely FILTHY dirty, FILTHY. Limescale, dust, stains, stained mattress topper, stained inside drawers. An actual bogey streak was on the bathroom wall- very attentive housekeeping clearly. Tv didn’t work. Kettle didn’t work. Shower didn’t work. NOT worth the £140 per night. When telling the manager, I was addressed with hostility. Told “you have another single bed in your room, you could’ve slept there”. “We’ve never had any complaints on the beds, they’re comfortable, they’re new” look at the picture and trying telling me they’re new. I booked a double bed, I wanted to sleep in a double bed. There are much much nicer hotels to stay in near the seafront for the same or less- go there!

On top of the beach, excellent location. You have to park outside if there are spaces and you have to pay. You only pay until 8pm as its free from then until 9am but 3 hours til 8pm cost us £17. Rooms are ok, our lamps didnt work but when its light til 10pm it didnt really matter, bathroom was a tad small but.. you cant eat in them but there is a dining room. Staff friendly. It's no frills but for what we paid, the bed was comfy the free WiFi worked and you have access to all the TV amazon, Netflix etc. Location makes it.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. I booked a family room for three days, but the stay was far from comfortable. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and caused me severe back pain throughout my stay. The room itself was very small and felt cramped, especially with children. The toilet door wouldn’t close , and the bathroom was very dirty. Basic amenities like shampoo or toiletries were not provided at all, which was quite surprising and inconvenient. The room had a strong, unpleasant smell, and there was visible mould in several areas. Initially, we were given a room on the third floor, which was very difficult to access with children. Later the next day, we were moved to an underground floor, which turned out to be even worse — no proper air circulation, a very claustrophobic feeling, and again a toilet door that didn’t close. The staff were very impolite and unhelpful. Whenever we raised concerns, their response was simply that this is all they could offer, with no effort to resolve any issues. Overall, this was a very bad experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I booked this through Booking.com, and it definitely did not meet expectations.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed with the condition of the room. The décor felt very outdated, and several maintenance issues were noticeable throughout my stay. The doors did not close properly, which affected both comfort and security, and some of the furniture appeared to be broken or in poor condition. In addition, the overall atmosphere of the property felt uncomfortable and somewhat neglected, giving the impression of a temporary or poorly maintained living space rather than a well-kept hotel. Overall, the quality of the room and environment did not meet expectations, and the hotel would greatly benefit from refurbishment and improved upkeep. Also pictures that they show on the internet are nothing the same as the actual hotel
