About New Steine - Guest House
Step inside New Steine - Guest House and you'll find one of 20 rooms kept clean and comfortable, though those after more space should note the rooms run on the smaller side and the staircase up to them can be steep. What guests consistently notice is the welcome: staff here are friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is a warm one rather than a purely functional check-in.
Breakfast is a proper occasion, generous and well-regarded, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for when you don't fancy heading out. The property also has a garden, a gym, a spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, and free on-site parking, alongside practicalities like laundry service, luggage storage and free WiFi. Meeting rooms and wedding facilities make it workable for groups too, with porter and concierge services on hand.
The address on New Steine puts you within easy reach of the Royal Pavilion and Brighton Pier, with pubs, restaurants and other eateries nearby for evenings out. It's a straightforward base for exploring central Brighton, comfortable rather than grand, with the seafront and city sights close at hand.

What guests say
Great location and a warm welcome at New Steine for our girls' weekend away. Our 5 rooms were all very clean and comfortable and some had lovely views, although one had a poor shower hence the 4 stars. Hervé was very friendly and chatty which really made our trip so pleasant. He even rang to confirm our booking before Christmas to check that all was OK. He suggested we pop to the little café round the corner( Hervés - linked to hotel) for breakfast which we enjoyed as it made our weekend a bit querky and fun. So close to everywhere and Hervé helped us with a parking permit for the Friday and weekend of our stay so that was brill; We parked just round the corner for £18.00. I would advise arriving in the afternoon rather than evening if you want an easy parking slot in Brighton centre. Thanks New Steine!

Lovely and cozy place in perfect location! We felt at home here from the first moment. The owner is unbelievably friendly and welcoming and really makes you feel taken care of. His kindness alone made our stay special. This is not a perfectly polished, ultra-modern hotel. And that’s exactly why we loved it. The place is very cozy and has so much charm and character. You can feel that a lot of love and heart went into it. Everything was clean and well looked after, but what really stands out is the atmosphere. Staying here felt very personal and different from a typical hotel experience. A truly special place.

What a lovely lovely hotel. The staff there are wonderfully polite and kind. Location is great just a very short walk to the pier but just off the front so it’s less noisy. Very old hotel so if you get one of the top floor quad rooms be prepared for stairs, lots of stairs. Single room had no toilet so you had to use the toilets on the first floor, but did have its own shower. Which is the only reason it didn’t get 5 stars. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and paid over £300… On the second day the management was really rude when demanding us not to use the garden gate which has no notices not to use. We were moaned at for hoover the room during the day because of the noise. We were then accused of doing illegal activities and the management called the police accusing us of illegal things. They made us leave at 9pm and only gave me half my money back because they said they couldn’t clean the room at this time. I highly advise you not to stay there
