About Seaside Hotel

The Brighton Centre is close by, and Middle Street itself sits within easy reach of the seafront, pubs, restaurants and entertainment that make this stretch of Brighton popular with visitors. Cycling and walking routes are nearby too, along with golf and fishing for anyone wanting to venture a little further out, so there's plenty to fill a day beyond the hotel itself. Seaside Hotel offers adults-only accommodation with en-suite bathrooms and a lift for easier access to the rooms. Free WiFi is provided throughout, and drinks are available in the room, useful for settling in after a day exploring the town. It should be said plainly that guest opinion of the hotel has been mixed, with a rating of 1.8 out of 5 from 70 reviews. Anyone booking should weigh this against the convenience of the location, which remains the property's clearest advantage - Brighton's centre and seafront are close at hand, with bars, eateries and entertainment all within walking distance of Middle Street.

Upon entry the place is full of random items, similar to that of a hoarding type situation. I knew initially of a communal bathroom, however I had no idea it'd be with 9 other rooms. The bathroom itself is tiny, and close to falling apart. I will give it to them in the sense of cleaning it well. The water itself is hard to get the right temperature, the tap is extremely stiff and hard to get running, the bath tub is tiny, the shower head just hangs over the tap with no wall mount, the bottom of the bath is broken, there is rust everywhere. Within the room it was boiling hot, I asked for a fan but they had none in the whole hotel. The window wouldn't even close, as we tried to at least try keep some cold air in. There are holes in all the walls, a lightbulb missing, and for some reason they've put the bed against a slanted wall (headboard was completely bent and not attached). The wardrobe had one hanger and the door panels were missing a lot. It becomes unbearable when it's situated near 3 or more clubs, with no way of closing the window and the glass only being single glazed, we heard everything throughout the whole sleepless night. Even the window frame was rotting and rusty, immediately outside of it were a lot of cigarette ends and old pants. A kettle with no coffee, tea, milk, cups, etc and the cable doesn't even reach a socket, unless you put it on the floor. Very strange and difficult stay, if you don't care too much just for an emergency stay or last minute one, go for it. Just know it'll be a very sad and disappointing one. Feels like an abandoned house in all fairness. I've also done another review of this place elsewhere, but somehow the images to back it up were taken off, very suspicious

I've left 1 star for rooms and service because I can't leave a zero. This hotel is awful. Walking in through the front door and the first thing is the 1960s style carpet that looks liked its been there since the 60s, it's that old and worn out. The reception staff weren't very friendly and when we asked about parking locations it was as if they didn't want to answer. When we got up to our room to say it was basic was an understatement, plus it was dirty and unhygienic. Within 10mins we had decided that this wasn't the hotel for us and we set about finding an alternative. Luckily we found somewhere and off we went. When we left the reception lady didn't even acknowledge us, it was as if she wasn't surprised or didnt care because we'd paid the money and it was our loss. This hotel really is for lads and lasses that are in Brighton for a stag/hen weekend and they don't care about where they sleep and in what condition they leave their room in. To be honest Booking.com needs to consider pulling this hotel from their list of properties.

Waited ages for someone to come and answer the door and said that they don't have a registered room on that day spent £200 for nothing and basically said to us "that is not my problem to deal with" very rude and not caring about how we paid for a room, they basically robbed us so we found a better hotel than this. Never come here.

It's difficult where to start on this hotel. I'll start with the positives. If you are going out in Brighton and drinking your weight in alcohol. And you don't care where you sleep. Then this hotel is perfect for you. Now the negatives. The receptionist seemed pretty confused about me booking a room. The rooms are horrifically dirty. I couldn't quite believe how bad it was. The mould in the bathroom is dangerous. The bathroom ceiling is about a week away from falling down. The bed looks like it's never been cleaned. I had to sleep fully clothed. The windows are paper thin. The street noise is so loud. (This isn't really the hotels fault.) But you will not be able to sleep until 3am ish. I was woken up by water dripping into my room from the ceiling too. All in all I have stayed in many hotels before. And this is by far the worst.
