Black Bear Burger Brixton

I don't know what has gone wrong with latest event in this branch. Two branches, two burgers, two completely different experiences. I've visited Canary Wharf branch same day and burger was so much better, not mentioning entire experience. I think Brixton's branch wasn't prepared at all, there was no plan how to serve so many people efficiently and delivering good food at the same time. First sign was obvious: no queuing system, we were just sitting and they would take our orders by making notes on paper. I wasn't inside so can't say did they do same preparation as at Canary Wharf's branch. Second sign: food arrived fast, way too fast and I already knew it won't be good. And it wasn't. If it would have been average, then no issue but it was just bad burger. Onions were barely caramelised, meat felt half raw, lots of fat, and in bad way - at the end my box was full of it, shame I didn't take a picture. I wasn't the only one, one lady refused to eat hers, said it's got blood. I don't want to point fingers, maybe they didn't have enough people, maybe there was a need for somebody from outside of this branch. Service felt rushed, it seemed to me they don't want to run the event there. And I know, it's free food but I always try to be honest with my reviews, no matter what. It's surprising since this branch has got so many positives opinions.

Absolutely amazing food. Best burger I have ever had and the service was absolutely fantastic. Made us feel right at home. Try the black bear burger, you will not regret it!!

Always enjoy black burger have been a fan since they first opened in Shoreditch. Was at the Brixton location and food as always is banging. The bajan rum punch👌🏾 and Donny was great!

Black bear burgers have always been my answer when people ask “where’s the best burger joint” I have had the pleasure of eating at the Shoreditch, Shepards bush, Brixton and the pop up in Canada Water some years ago and they have been consistently good. Today’s exception was the friendliest most happiest person I have ever had the pleasure of hosting me, Donnie. His smile was incredibly kinda and his knowledge of the cocktails second to none! Brixton brunch has now become my favourite 💖
