Kurisu Omakase

Honestly I don’t know where to start, I went tonight with my girlfriend for her birthday and we were both blown away!! There’s not enough adjectives in the dictionary to compliment the experience and service that’s provided by Chef Chris and his team. The fish melts in your mouth and the care for preparation and ingredients shines through in every course, the sake flight was the perfect paring for the different courses. Chef Chris and his mum don’t get enough credit for the hospitality, the humour and the authenticity they both bring to the experience, the food is out of this world and the knowledge and expertise that goes into it is mind blowing, by far the best omakase experience I’ve had anywhere in the world, even including Japan, Chef Chris really is a sensei of sushi!

I usually tick 5 star for atmosphere through omission of anything unfavourable but this was a deserving 5* atmosphere. An unbelievable 18 course menu served by a belly-laugh-inducing Chris who will entertain you with stories of his training and restaurant learnings. Sushi is my favourite cuisine but this took it to another level, must pair with the sake flight served by a very knowledgeable and humble co-host. 8 seat intimate dining created a beautifully memorably experience and would definitely visit again.

We came here for a special birthday meal on 18/02 and it was the most incredible experience! The whole team were so knowledgeable and welcoming - the food was INSANE like nothing I have ever eaten before and watching it all be prepared and explained to you was fantastic (I especially liked their picked radish which you have in between courses) The way I described it at the time was ‘it tastes like that first day of a holiday’ - they even got me a birthday card and extra radish! Definitely a place for a special occasion.

We really loved eating at Kurisu Omakase. Intimate restaurant serving just eight people and a view of the counter so you really feel part of it and everything is made in front of you. It’s the eprfet mixture of amazing food and great chat, both with Chris himself and the other diners as over the course of 90-minutes everyone thaws a bit. It was great to see Chris’s dedication to quality and every part of our meal was memorable. Please do go - you won’t regret it!
