What diners say
So I used to live in Brixton and Maremma was always my favourite restaurant to go (it gets my Tuscan mother’s seal of approval too). In lockdown we would pick up their cook-at-home bundles and enjoy their amazing food at home. Unfortunately I developed a life altering neurological condition in my brain after having Covid which meant I could no longer eat or stomach most smells and flavours. I once explained my situation to the team at Maremma and they would sit me by the kitchen and make me the only dish I could have at the time (cacio e pepe) even though it wasn’t on their menu and they probably don’t know this but they made an incredibly difficult period of my health and life a little bit easier and enjoyable (I wasn’t able to eat anything other than plain pasta, cheese, and a select few vegetables for over 2.5 years so I avoided restaurants like the plague usually). I visited again after years away last night and had a delicious meal as always. The tagliata of beef was perfect and the tiramisu and panna cotta were incredible too. The playlist also slapped.

Came here for a birthday meal and the service was incredible. Our waitress was very attentive, taking the time to explain the menu and provide a recommendation. The food was overall good, especially the ragu, but the sourdough bread was undercooked and not what we were expecting. They also offered us a discount at their bar around the corner for a drink after which was a great touch

I was very excited to come and try this place! However the portions are extremely small and on the pricey side of it. The food was good overall, but it lacked a bit of flavour, however the tiramisu was so good! I wouldn't come back, is too expensive for what you get. Do yourself a favour and try Artusi, in Peckham instead.

After walking past the restaurant a few times, I decided to take my wife on Sunday. We arrived at 2pm to be told that due to having limited bookings, they were not going to cook anymore for the day and we were turned away.. And they wonder why they are empty most of the time! Such poor service, willing customers wanting to eat even though it was hours before the scheduled last service. We will not be going back!
