What diners say
Decided to use The Too Good To Go app for the first time and Paddy's Yard came up offering a surprise bag. I decided to get 2 containers, assuming that it was going to be 2 small meals. I received a small portion of rice and peas and a container of curry goat. On the plus side the curry goat had a decent amount of flavour. On the negative, the meat even with the sauce was very dry and the sauce was grainy. The rice and peas also tastes old and was quite grainy also. Now here is my main problem. On the container for the curry goat it's dated 18th. Today is the 22nd. I really wanted to enjoy the food but I didn't as I have heard so much good things about Paddy's Yard. Just because it's Too Good To Go does not mean you should skimp on quality and quantity.

I’ve been to Paddy's for Sunday dinner a few times. The first visit was great, the second was average, but the jerk chicken stood out, so I came back again this time with two friends. The main positive is the price: £32 for a large plate of Caribbean Sunday lunch, an alcoholic drink each, and dessert, very affordable for Brixton. The pub itself has a 90s vibe with a diverse and welcoming crowd. The food, however, is inconsistent. The Yorkshire pudding was dense and undercooked, the rice and peas lacked flavour, and the jerk chicken this time was dry with no seasoning or sauce. Service is also extremely slow because only one waiter is covering the whole room. He’s genuinely lovely, friendly, and doing his absolute best, and he’s probably the reason many people stay patient, but the long waits are noticeable. If you’re having drinks and want something cheap to fill you, it works. However, if you’re looking for a proper, flavourful Sunday lunch with reasonable service times, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Made a booking although when I arrived it seemed like there was no booking system at all. The staff seemed really busy and perhaps not enough. The customer service was not great however I think the staff were trying their best. The jerk chicken and the curry meals were good however I was served burnt fritters, it’s disappointing that it was served to me. I wanted to send them back but it was so hard to get the attention of staff I just gave up. I would not be in any hurry to return at all.

Is it an Irish bar with Jamaican characteristics or a Jamaican bar with Irish characteristics? Either way it's a relaxed bar playing classic reggae tunes. £5 for a Guinness. Hard to take a view on a very wet January afternoon. But I liked it. I look forward to going again when it's a bit more lively.

People say this pub offers delicious Jamaican and Irish food, including flavorful jerk chicken and curry goat, alongside well-made cocktails and Guinness. They also highlight the friendly, attentive staff and the lively, welcoming atmosphere with good music.
Some reviews mention the service can be inefficient.
