Heron Barn

Photo: C S P

Lamas sits within easy reach of the Norfolk Broads and the North Norfolk coast, making this converted barn an excellent base for exploring both. The village itself offers quiet countryside, with walking routes beginning practically from the door. Wroxham, the heart of the Broads, lies 6 miles away and is the natural starting point for anyone wanting to hire a boat or take a river trip through one of Britain's finest wetlands.

Heron Barn sleeps four across two bedrooms: a king on the ground floor and upstairs a room with zip-and-link twin beds that can be joined into a super-king if needed. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The ground floor living space has a vaulted ceiling and wooden flooring, centred around a wood burner—logs are provided to get you started. The kitchen/dining room is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. Outside, a small patio with a charcoal barbecue looks over the garden; note this area is not fenced, so dogs—one is welcome here—will need supervising. Private parking for two cars sits on site. The property is non-smoking throughout.

Absolutely perfect. Fantastic stay over Christmas. Hosts couldn't have been nicer. Farm House excellently equipped, beautiful views and walks nearby. Will (hopefully) return soon!

Quiet and secluded location, work is still going on for the surrounding barns but not during our stay, so was really peaceful. Shame there is no garden but so close to fields and open spaces from the door. We'll equipped cottage, although kettle needs replacing desperately. Lovely woodburner and welcome pack, the rhubarb and almond sponge was delish. Thank you.

A lovely barn conversion- so homely and welcoming that you immediately feel comfortable and able to chill and relax. Has the added advantage that it is dog friendly- although you wouldn't know it - therefore non doggie people do not be put off by this. A lovely riverside meadow to walk the dogs and fishing platform for the keen fisherman. The woodburner almost invites the chilly evenings and the welcoming gifts (we had bread, cheese, chutney and milk) are a lovely and delicious touch. Highly recommended
