About Roundhill Campsite
This Forest Service campsite in the New Forest near Brockenhurst delivers exactly what campers want: open woodland pitches among ancient oaks and roaming ponies, no electric hook-ups, and proper back-to-basics camping. Runner-up for Best Campsite South East England 2025, Roundhill earns praise for its stunning setting and peaceful atmosphere, though some visitors note facilities can feel tired in places.
The 249 grass pitches spread across forest clearings give plenty of space, and two bell tents offer a glamping option for those wanting a roof without the tent pegs. Dogs love it here – expect to share your morning coffee with New Forest ponies wandering past. With straightforward facilities (showers, toilets, drinking water but no WiFi), it's ideal for families after an unplugged escape with deer spotting and forest walks right from your pitch.

What visitors say
Beautiful very large campsite with loads of places to pitch up. The excitement of choosing your own spot to camp is always so fun. Lovely to camp amongst the horses, donkies and cows and see them at the pond every day. So much wildlife - so many different types of birds. A very convenient little on site shop that sells wonderful coffees too! We enjoyed a beautiful circular walk out and around the heathland. Clean toilets and showers. We can't wait to come back, we stayed for 3 nights and it absolutely wasn't long enough.

Lovely campsite, so much space to choose from! We pitched up in a lovely shady spot which was ideal, as it was during a heatwave. Facilities were clean and tidy each time we used them. Staff friendly and helpful. We loved seeing the horses and foals meandering around, and our children also enjoyed seeing the tadpoles and froglets in the pond. We will definitely return one day.

Excellent site, clean and good facilities. Location is excellent and provided a wonderful sanctuary for us on our weekend trip. Lots of wildlife, nicely run camp site. Hope to visit again soon! Absolutely no signal (which we loved) but free wifi by the check in if you need it!

Beautiful campsite right in the middle of the forest with horses and cow grazing around you whilst you soak in the views of the forest. Toilets and amenities were extremely clean and all in great order for the whole visit. The camp shop, although small stocked more than enough with a good selection of everything you need including hot and cold drinks. Charging locker available outside the shop were a great idea with 240v plugs sockets and USB charging points in each locker. Fantastic knowledgeable staff who always treated you with a smile and is there anything we can do to help. Simply faultless.
