Our local leisure centre and always a great time. Staff are helpful and friendly and facilities are welcoming, good and clean. Showers, lockers, changing cubicles, hair dryers and costume dryer all available. Aqua splash was great fun and not as easy as it looked to start with lol

The gym lacks complex equipments and isn’t the largest space, if your okay with basic equipment and a quiet space (depending on the hour) then this gym will be okay for you.

Kids swimming lessons here are rubbish. Some lessons the kids don't even get in the pool, they sit them on the side in their swimming costumes and show them bits of paper. Complete waste of time and money. Don't the management realise parents have to rush home from work to get to these lessons, what is the point if they don't even get to see them swim. Surely all this safety stuff could just be done on a video they could watch at home? Update: 6 MONTHS (June 2026) later and nobody at Better has listened. Another wasted lesson with NO ACTUAL SWIMMING.

First and last time I think we’ll visit this swimming pool. Unfortunately, the experience was not very welcoming from the beginning. The receptionist was polite, but not very accommodating. She didn’t ask whether we had visited before or explain where anything was, which would have been helpful for families new to the centre. My husband and I visited on Tuesday morning at 9:30am with our three autistic children. We arrived around five minutes early and I was confused as to why I could only see children in the learner pool. When I politely asked a tall blonde staff member if I was in the right place, she rudely pointed at the sign and said there was a class on. I only asked because I genuinely didn’t realise, which is why I was confused in the first place. As two of my children are non-verbal and were already becoming frustrated being somewhere unfamiliar, the interaction felt especially unwelcoming and lacking understanding. The pool itself was also very cold and my whole family were shivering while trying to settle in. While we were there, I also witnessed another staff member 'a middle-aged lady with her hair in a high bun' speaking quite aggressively to another customer. It felt very unnecessary and uncomfortable to witness. I don’t go swimming often, but this was honestly one of the worst experiences we’ve had at a leisure centre. I expected better from the area I grew up in.
