What visitors say
Stately home with an unusual design, notably the rotunda. Interesting family history, which you can learn about from the very knowledgeable National Trust guides. Excellent cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Ask in the library about the series of handwritten volumes recording the proceedings in Parliament, starting in the reign of Elizabeth I. They preceded Hansard. Extensive grounds, a large part of which can be used by cyclists. Well worth a visit.

Stunning place. Staff are so friendly and informed. Gardens are relaxing and well kept. Give yourself a day, bring a picnic or have lunch at the restaurant. So much to see. The Rose Garden has so many varieties. Our first visit to a National Trust as we joined here but we'll worth it.

Had a lovely walk around Ickworth. The grounds are lovely. The house grand. All the staff were amazing. The cafe is typical NT prices - but they had a coronation chickpea sandwich (which I have never seen before) and it was delicious Will definitely return.

We took a wonderful walk here today with the hound. We didn’t go into the house as not dog friendly but doggies are very welcome in the beautiful, vast grounds. The trees here are just amazing with one hosting more mistletoe than I’ve seen in my life, so of course I landed a smacker on the hound under some! The whole walk was firm under foot as there’s a wonderful pathway that goes around the well signed routes. Lots of other doggies around for sniffs & kisses and lovely natural streams for the pooches to cool down in & grab a drink. Plenty of picnic tables too so we look forward to returning in the warmer weather for a little Al fresco lunch. X Lots of parking!
