About Sun Hotel

Canterbury's old streets are built for walking, and Sun Hotel sits right among them on Sun Street, within easy reach of the Cathedral and the River Stour. With just seven rooms, it has the feel of a small, personally run hotel rather than a large chain property, and each room comes with its own en-suite bathroom and in-room drinks.

Guests can start the day with breakfast on site, then make use of the bar and restaurant later on, while the garden offers a quiet spot away from the street. Practical extras include free WiFi, luggage storage, laundry service, and family rooms for those travelling with children. Free on-site parking is a genuine advantage in a city where finding a space can otherwise be difficult.

Beyond the hotel, Canterbury offers plenty to fill a stay, from nearby pubs and restaurants to entertainment options, golf, and fishing within reach for those who want to venture further. It's a compact, central base that puts the city's main sights and everyday amenities within walking distance.

Went here for food and it was absolutely delicious 😋 Staff was very friendly also. It's in a beautiful narrow street that gives it a nice atmosphere. Would definitely come back

Stayed 1 night in the Sun Room - the best in the hotel, I believe. Jacuzzi too! Obviously this hotel is fab for the location and for the fact that it's in a historic building... it's more of a B&B than a hotel though. Access via the restaurant downstairs... it's not a hotel, it's a British Inn with rooms to die for! Pity could not really enjoy the Jacuzzi as the water was not hot enough - good effect though! ;-) Will be back because I loved the location and the room, not because of the "hotel", I repeat, it's not a hotel.... not by any stretch of imagination! Loved it though! Roby

I was at this hotel 2 weeks ago. I loved the location. The Charles Dickens room was charming. The old building required the toilet squeezed in one corner and the shower in a sort of closet. No one ever came to tidy my room. I didn't care. There were plenty of towels. The stairs in the old building were a bit challenging for an older lady to get her suitcases down the morning I left as no one was around. If you want cozy and character, I recommend the Sun Hotel.
