A complete gem of a hotel - but not hidden, because of its amazing location in the heart of Canterbury next to the Cathedral. A lovely welcome from Rob who helped with registering our cars in the nearby car park. He took the time to recommend excellent things to do and places to eat and drink. We were a party of five and we all loved our rooms which were comfortable, super clean and had decent fans, tea, coffee and biscuits. Continental breakfast was perfect. The EQUALLY lovely friendly Dean checked us out. Have recommended it to friends back home already and hope to return soon!

Brilliant location. Lovely hotel next to the cathedral. Room was clean and nicely set out. Shower was hot & powerful. Continental breakfast had a good selection and served to the table, we chose to have the full English on one morning which was delicious and worth the extra cost. Good tea/coffee tray and selection. Highly recommend.

Perfect for a visit to the Cathedral which is quite literally next door. Choose an upper room for a view of the Cathedral which is otherwise obscured by buildings. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was delicious. Room was clean and cosy. Very happy with my stay.

Stayed for one night only for work purposes. Check-in was quick and easy and the gentleman at reception was inviting and delightful to talk to. Didn’t get his name sadly. Didn’t have time for breakfast so I can’t comment on that but there were plenty of teas and coffees in the room and help yourself water to grab just outside reception. The room itself had all I needed. Bed was soft (though a prefer a hard mattress) it wasn’t too soft. The room being on a slight tilt was actually comforting to me and added to the buildings charm. There are plenty of exposed beams which show off the sites true charm. Beautiful. Checkout was also quick and easy. All in all a pleasant nights sleep. They do provide ear plugs incase of local late night deliveries. But still slept well. Thank you to the team @ Cathedral Gate. Will book again the next time I’m called down to Canterbury, for certain, as the location is fantastic.
