About Radisson Blu Hotel Cardiff

Meridian Gate sits at the heart of Cardiff, close enough to Cardiff Castle and Principality Stadium that both are an easy walk away, and it's this central position that makes the Radisson Blu Hotel Cardiff a practical base for exploring the city. With 215 rooms, the hotel offers en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and family and accessible options, along with the sort of clean, well-kept space that makes settling in straightforward.

Breakfast is a particular strength here, with a wide selection to start the day, and the on-site restaurant and bar cover meals and drinks without needing to venture out. Kids' meals, room service and laundry service are all available, and the hotel also handles business meetings and weddings, with meeting rooms laid on for either. Staff are consistently described as helpful, which counts for a lot in a busy city-centre hotel.

Beyond the doors, Cardiff's pubs, bars and restaurants are all close by, and golf, fishing and watersports can be arranged nearby too. On-site parking is available but comes at a charge, and finding a space can be trickier at busy times, so it's worth planning ahead if you're arriving by car.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were lovely as was the breakfast. The rooms was very clean, spacious with good amenities. My only gripe would be the very noisy AC (which was off btw) that kept me up for the majority of the night.

Spacious room and a genuinely beautiful bathroom. That’s where the positives end. For £85 a night (100 if booked directly) it is overpriced. The first room had visible stains on curtains, desk, and wardrobe, plus just two flat pillows for a massive bed. No complimentary water either. It’s disappointing that this was deemed acceptable… feels like they’ve got so many rooms they’d rather swap than fix. Reception swapped the room without fuss, which I appreciate. The second room is cleaner and tidier with slightly better pillows, but it’s not perfect either. The darker carpet and lighting just mask the issues… there are stains on the curtains here too, and I’ve found two moths on the curtains despite the windows being completely sealed. That’s genuinely odd and suggests maintenance problems run much deeper than what’s immediately visible. Full of carpet stains too. I’m scared to call reception to swap a room for the second time in case it’s even worse… I’ll rather take the hit. Hopefully breakfast is nice in the morning The lighting in this room is noticeably worse, which makes working difficult. The furniture throughout feels cheap and scratched. You’re paying premium rates for basic, worn accommodation with hidden problems. The bathroom is genuinely beautiful and well-maintained — that’s the only thing that justifies the price. But one decent bathroom doesn’t compensate for everything else. They’re willing to help when you complain, but the systemic issues suggest the whole place needs a proper refresh.

The hotel is in a great location and was very clean, with friendly and welcoming staff. However, our stay was let down by a few disappointing issues. The bar closed at 11pm despite the website stating it would be open until midnight, and reception refused to serve drinks after 11pm. Additionally, we were unable to get any food at 7pm on Bank Holiday Monday, which was quite inconvenient. Overall, a pleasant stay in some respects, but the lack of available food and inconsistent bar hours were frustrating.

Stayed here for my birthday arranged parking paid for it and have since been hounded for a parking charge despite paying for the parking. I was promised it would be cancelled and then had a text threatening to up the charge this is still on going ..do not park here . The parking facility itself is tiny and horrendous but to then be charged is shocking. In Addition to this I was told thier champagne bar advertised online is closed and the staff didn't even know what the special offer on the menu was, a bad experience all around
