About Travelodge Cardiff Central

Travelodge Cardiff Central offers straightforward en-suite rooms with drinks making facilities, spread across five floors and served by a lift, so guests get a no-frills base rather than a fussy stay. Some rooms are better kept than others and street noise can filter through at night, worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper, but the beds and bathrooms do the job for a short city break.

Downstairs there's a restaurant for meals without having to venture out, plus 24 hour reception for late arrivals or early starts. Pets are welcome, which makes this a rare option for travelling with a dog in the city centre, and there's an electric vehicle charge point on site. Parking itself isn't included, but chargeable parking is available a short walk away near Central Station.

The location is the real draw: Cardiff Castle and the Millennium Stadium are both within easy reach, alongside the city's main shopping streets, plus a good spread of pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Staff are consistently helpful, and with 100 rooms across a range of prices, it works equally well for a quick overnight stop or a longer visit exploring the capital.

I'm giving this a five star review based purely on how friendly and helpful all of the staff I encountered were. The location is obviously amazing if you want central Cardiff, and while the rooms were basic, they were exactly what I expected for the price I paid, so no complaints there either. But it was very refreshing to feel welcomed, supported, and engaged with, by the reception staff, which is not something I expected for the price I paid. Thank you.

Well, better than I expected. Sandwiched between two Weatherspoon pubs, I had visions of noise, revelry and general disturbance, but no, none of it. The rooms are slightly refurbished and provide comfort at a basic level. The bed is good & the bathroom functional. Obviously the TL has no bar/cafe so pop next door for your standard Spoons fare & breakfast. The staff are friendly and caring. Overall quite surprised & will stay again.

Had to leave at 22:00 the room was so excessively hot we simply couldn't stay. There is no ventilation in the rooms and it was dangerously hot. I'm aware it's not the staffs fault and there is little that can be done but we are now out of pocket due to having to get emergency last minute transport home and our little trip away has been absolutely ruined.

First time staying at a travelodge as normally it’s been premiere inn but due to the concert decided that the location was more ideal. Staff were pleasant and friendly enough, however on entering the hotel it was very stuffy as it was during the heatwave. This only got worse upon entering the room where it was disgustingly stuffy to the point there was barely any airflow, it felt suffocating. Window partially open providing no relief and a small tiny fan fighting for its life only to succeed in blowing hot air around the room. Room itself is standard for the price, not crisp but provides the min basics. It’s placed in possibly one of the noisier spots , could hear lots of music from the pub below and chatter from the street accompanied by the constant beeping horns from taxis up to around 3am. Breakfasts where very standard , not a lot of flavour and very bland but enough to see you through the morning.
