Carlisle city centre, with its shops, pubs and restaurants, is close by, and Hadrian's Wall is within driving distance for a day exploring one of the region's best-known landmarks. Golf and fishing can also be arranged nearby, making Abbey Court Guest House a practical base whether the visit is about history or the outdoors.
The guest house has 14 rooms, including family options, each with an en-suite bathroom, a mini-fridge and a range of hot drinks provided. Rooms are kept comfortable and quiet, and free WiFi is available throughout. A garden and outdoor seating area give guests somewhere to relax outside, and laundry service and luggage storage are on hand for longer stays.

This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Carlisle or exploring the full length of the Hadrians Wall Path. Excellent breakfast, knowledgeable owner, comfortable accommodation. You can even get laundry done here, which is invaluable to hikers, cyclists, and anyone making Carlisle a stop on a longer stay in the region.

My room was small but ideal. Mini fridge I had to turn off. Fabulous breakfast selection. Something for everyone. Friendly, professional staff. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be my first choice if I pass through Carlisle again.

I was looking for a place to stay before my Hadrian's Wall walk and notice that this hotel is near the train station and saw that it had excellent reviews. It did not disappoint. So I decided to book it for my return from my walk. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is second to non, and the staff and owners treat you like family. Thank you Kelly and Dave for a wonderful experience.

Stayed here for two nights last week, a fantastic little B&B. Approx. 15 min stroll, 10 min normal walk to from the train station/town centre. Kelly was a fantastic host, very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble. I stayed in Room 2, it was a nice airy room, and very comfortable. Had a mini fridge with chilled water in upon my arrival. Plenty of tea/coffee, milk and something I have never seen these before, packets of squash!! I am one of those adults who take squash in my water so I was very happy. It is the little things :) The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Fantastic breakfast choice, and cooked perfectly, the perfect poached egg! If in Carlisle again, I would definitely rebook.
