Barncailzie Lodge

Barncailzie Lodge is a detached property in open countryside between Springholm and Castle Douglas, a designated Food Town with restaurants and independent shops. The whole lodge is yours alone, with room for up to six guests across three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs holds the main living spaces—a sitting room with woodburner and Freeview TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen with electric cooker and washing machine. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king bed and ensuite shower; two further double bedrooms complete the sleeping arrangements. One bedroom is designated for children only.

The essentials are covered: Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen, towels and logs for the woodburner are included. The kitchen is equipped for cooking from scratch. Outside, you have private parking for three cars, a garden with seating and BBQ, and direct access to the surrounding countryside. There is an unfenced pond within the grounds.

This location suits groups and families wanting a base for exploring Dumfries and Galloway. Mountain biking at Mabie Forest, walking routes through Caerlaverock Estate, and the 7Stanes trail network are all within reach by car. Several golf courses serve the area, including the championship course at Southerness. The nearest shop and pub are in Springholm village. No smoking is permitted inside.
