About Holiday Inn Chester South
Breakfast is the strong suit at Holiday Inn Chester South, with a wide spread of options that regularly wins over guests before they've even set off for the day. The on-site restaurant and bar cover the rest of mealtimes, with room service, packed lunches and kids' meals also available, so families and business travellers alike are catered for without needing to leave the building.
The hotel has 145 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms. Staff are consistently singled out as helpful and attentive, which counts for a lot, though it's worth knowing that some rooms have been reported as tired in places and not all have reliable air conditioning, so it's worth checking what you're booking if either matters to you.
Beyond the rooms, there's a gym, spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, and a garden with outdoor seating for warmer days. Meeting rooms make it a practical choice for work trips, while free on-site parking and pubs, restaurants and eateries nearby add convenience for anyone exploring Chester itself. Pets are welcome too.
What guests say
Unbelievably the door handle in the bathroom was on the wrong way round and upside down! And loose screws so came off! Very good assistance from Brad on reception. Very good service from the restaurant staff and excellent cooked to order poached eggs. Decent leisure facilities/pool. An aged dated hotel, but not too bad.

Rooms rather tired and in need of some updating or refurbishment. Dining room staff attentive, professional and pleasant. Food reasonable with a good range at breakfast. Car park, although fairly extensive, had few spaces on returning to hotel in the evening.

We had a very comfortable stay here. The executive room was excellent, with a really comfortable mattress and pillows—we slept like a log. The room was well equipped, including a good-sized 42-inch TV, and the toiletries provided were of great quality. We also made use of the spa facilities, which were good and a lovely way to relax after a day out. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and we’d happily stay here again.

We stayed here during a group coach tour and I’m so glad the tour company picked this hotel. The staff were great and very happy to help. The rooms were comfortable and so glad you could open the windows for some fresh air. The bed was incredibly comfortable, one of the best hotel beds I’ve probably slept on. It was soooo quiet at night you couldn’t hear anything considering you’re right near the motorway. Our tour each day had a packed itinerary and was so tiring, therefore we needed a place to have a great night’s sleep and this was the perfect spot. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. I highly recommend if you need a decent place to sleep and eat when in the area.
