Castletown Estate - Solway Marsh View

Hadrian's Wall runs within walking distance of this cottage, and the Solway coastal path is equally close. Carlisle itself sits 15 minutes away by car, while the Lake District fells rise beyond the river valley. The Scottish Borders are reachable for a day trip. What makes the location special is what lies on your doorstep: the cottage opens directly onto riverside walks not open to the general public, and a village pub serving food is a quarter-hour's walk away.
Castletown Estate – Solway Marsh View is a self-contained farmhouse cottage sleeping four across two bedrooms: a king-size bed upstairs and a bunk room with two three-foot beds. The bathroom is on the first floor. Downstairs you get a living room with a woodburner and smart TV, plus a kitchen-diner fitted with everything needed to cook properly – electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided, along with logs for the fire. An enclosed garden with seating looks onto the river and the fells beyond; there is parking for two cars on site.
The setting is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river sits 200 yards from the cottage. One dog or cat can stay free. The property does not permit smoking.

Another relaxing time at Capricorn Cottage, which was spotless and well maintained. Excellent views of the estuary with local walks.
