Hollow Creek Cottage is arranged over two floors, with the living space and kitchen downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. Downstairs you have a sitting room with a multi-fuel burner, a kitchen/dining room with electric cooking and a dishwasher, and a shower room. The bedroom is a kingsize on the first floor, with an ensuite toilet. There are open spiral stairs between levels. The whole property is yours alone, and it sleeps two.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking rather than holiday shortcuts. You get bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electricity included; heating oil costs £15 per week in the colder months. An enclosed garden with seating and a barbecue is attached to the property. Parking is on site, and there's an electric vehicle charging point if you need one. One dog is welcome. The cottage does not permit smoking.
The setting is a quiet village three miles west of Carlisle, with shops a mile away and a pub and restaurant three-quarters of a mile on foot. Hadrian's Wall Path and the coastal cycle route pass nearby. The Scottish Border, Lake District and Northumberland National Park are all within an hour's drive, and the Solway Firth is close by.

A lovely, cosy cottage in a quiet hamlet. It is run by a lovely, hard-working couple who live next door. They were welcoming and friendly and were on hand to answer any questions. Their two cats were also friendly and came over to be petted when they saw you. The homemade cream was a lovely surprise and very delicious. The cottage had everything you required, and the bed was very comfortable. Just being approximately 4 miles from Carlisle, there was plenty to see and do (even though we spent most of the time relaxing) We would definitely return in the future.

Lovely cottage with all amenities needed. Especially liked the log burner stove. Very cosy and comfortable, quiet at night too. Close to Solway coast, handy for exploring, and around 15 minutes’ drive from Carlisle itself, with all its amenities. Also handy for exploring Hadrian’s Wall. Lovely owner/caretaker.

Beautiful little countryside cottage. Everything you need for a peaceful getaway but not too far from Carlisle. Owners are really kind and helpful - they even provided us with a little welcome pack of homemade scones and homemade jam. Will definitely visit again!
