Cosy Cottage

Cosy Cottage is a traditional Lakeland property in Portinscale, on the northern edge of Derwentwater and a mile from Keswick. Everything needed for a self-catering break is provided: the kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave and fridge-freezer for meal preparation, while the living and dining areas combine into an L-shaped space with a woodburner and TV. Bed linen, wifi, electricity and heating are all included, and there is parking on site.

The cottage sleeps five across two bedrooms—a double on the ground floor and a zip-and-link super kingsize upstairs that can be configured as singles—plus one bathroom with a bath and shower. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The village itself has a pub within a mile, a tea room, and a marina; Keswick's shops, galleries and attractions lie just beyond. Mountain walks to Causey Pike, Catbells, Grisedale Pike and Skiddaw start from the doorstep, with gentler routes round the water also nearby. No smoking inside the property.
