Derwentwater and the fells around Catbells are within easy reach of Skiddaw Croft Bed & Breakfast, making it a natural base for lakeside walks, cycling routes and quieter countryside trails. Fishing and watersports are also on hand nearby, along with a golf course, for those wanting more than a stroll, while Keswick itself is close enough for pubs, restaurants and evening entertainment.
The B&B itself keeps things simple with three rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and views out towards the mountains. Guests get free WiFi, drinks in the room, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Breakfast is included, and packed lunches can be arranged for a day out on the fells.
Outside, there's a garden and outdoor seating area to relax in after a walk, and free on-site parking makes it straightforward to come and go. Reception is staffed around the clock, so arrival times are flexible. It's a compact, well-placed spot for exploring Portinscale and the western shore of Derwentwater.

Had the most incredible stay here at Skiddaw Croft B&B - Debbie was the most wonderful and it truly felt like staying with family. The cooked breakfasts were amazing, rooms and views were charming and the location was fantastic, with easy walks to Keswick and Catbells. Already planning my next stay!

We recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at Skiddaw Croft. It's in the most perfect and quiet location close to Keswick which is only a very short and lovely walk away. The rooms were really comfortable with the most delicious breakfast. The hosts were fantastic and we had a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend staying here and would definitely stay there again.

I would 100% stay here again. The room was lovely and clean, they use really good quality towels and bed linen. The owners are great at what they do. Lovely breakfasts using meat from local butchers. Can't wait to stay again and will be recommending the b and b to family and friends.
