Whinlatter Forest offers walking routes, mountain biking, an osprey viewing point and a visitor centre with a café, all within reach of Fairholme. Keswick's shops, restaurants and attractions lie four miles off; nearer still, Braithwaite has a village shop and pubs a mile and a half away. Thornthwaite Galleries and Tea Rooms are just over 100 yards from the door. The cottage itself sits above Comb Beck on a forest slope in the hamlet of Seldom Seen, converted from a 1700s water-driven sawmill.
Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a kingsize bed, one with a double, each with a television and DVD player. Downstairs holds a living room and separate dining room, both with TV. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, combi microwave, air fryer—plus a washing machine. One bathroom has a bath with shower over. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, and there is parking for one car on site. A travel cot and highchair are available. The property is no-smoking.
