This stone cottage sits above the River Greta in Keswick, its character rooted in the area's industrial past. The building is split across two levels, reached by a spiral staircase that connects the main living space to the bedrooms below. Five steps lead to the entrance; there are also eight steps in the garden and steep stairs internally, so it's worth knowing the layout before booking.
Downstairs holds an open-plan living and dining area with a woodburner and kitchen equipped for real cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the basics. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king bed and ensuite toilet, the other with two single beds that zip together. The main bathroom has a bath and walk-in shower. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included. There's private parking for one car and a bike store. The garden has a patio with furniture.
Walks to Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra start from the doorstep. Keswick town centre is fifteen minutes on foot, with shops, restaurants and pubs. Derwentwater is nearby, as is the Theatre by the Lake. The property sleeps four and is yours alone; no smoking inside.
