Lingmoor View

The Langdale valley draws walkers and cyclists for good reason: the fells rise steeply on all sides, paths branch from every village, and the Langdale Boulders sit within easy reach. Lingmoor View places you right in the middle of it. This 2-bedroom cottage sleeps 4 and sits on a working property with shared gardens and private parking. You get the whole place to yourselves, and one dog can come too.

Downstairs there's a living room with an open fire and smart TV, a kitchen and dining space with electric cooking, and a bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen has what you need for real cooking—oven, hob, microwave, fridge, washer-dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with two singles. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, and there's firewood for the burner. A cot and highchair are available if needed. The cottage is no-smoking.

A pub is within a mile. The nearby towns of Ambleside, Coniston and Hawkshead offer shops, cafés and restaurants if you want a break from walking. The main draw, though, is the country immediately outside: fell paths, becks, and the distinctive landscape that's drawn people here for centuries.
