The Longhouse at Threave

The Longhouse at Threave suits families, groups of friends, and anyone wanting plenty of space without sharing facilities. This four-bedroom property, sleeping eight across two floors, sits in countryside near Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway. The ground floor contains an open-plan living, kitchen and dining area with a woodburner and patio doors opening to the garden. Upstairs are two more bedrooms. Three bathrooms and showers mean there's no queue in the mornings.

Bedrooms vary to suit different needs: one double with ensuite, bunk beds for children, a king size, and two singles. The kitchen is properly equipped for cooking from scratch. Games room with table tennis, a hot tub for six in the private garden, and on-site parking for four cars round out what's included.
