Castle Douglas and its surrounding countryside draw walkers and cyclists to this corner of south-west Scotland, where quiet lanes connect villages and the market town sits within easy reach of beaches, gardens and rural attractions. Trefoil Treat occupies a village-edge position near Rhonehouse, a couple of miles from Castle Douglas itself, where independent shops, cafés and restaurants serve the local community.
The cottage is a semi-detached property with two bedrooms—a king and two singles—one bathroom, and a combined living and dining space on the ground floor. The kitchen is fitted for cooking, with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and the usual appliances. Upstairs, a generous hallway offers a quiet retreat. The place comes with Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels included. An enclosed front garden with seating area and furniture provides outdoor space; private parking for one car sits on site. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.
The property suits groups of four or families who want countryside access without isolation—Castle Douglas's cafés and shops are walkable, and Galloway Cycling Holidays operates nearby for those wanting to explore further afield. Threave Gardens, run by the National Trust for Scotland, lies within a pleasant walk through country lanes.

What guests say
Brilliant stay here. Lots of care, thought and effort put into this cottage. Everything you need is provided for, lots of info on local food / attractions available, facilities are great, plus lots of local literature. A perfect place to stay in the rolling hills of Galloway. Also the sofa is out of this world! So very comfy.
