Budget Edinburgh hotel on Links Gardens, with Edinburgh Zoo, golf, cycling routes and Waverley station all within reach.
About Adelphi Hotel
Edinburgh Zoo sits among the local attractions worth building a stay around, while golf courses, fishing spots, cycling routes and walking paths give visitors plenty of reason to venture beyond the city centre. Edinburgh Waverley is a couple of miles off, keeping the wider city and its sights within easy striking distance, and nearby pubs, bars and restaurants cover evenings out without much travel.
Adelphi Hotel offers ten rooms on Links Gardens, including family rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and free WiFi throughout. Drinks can be brought to your room, and free on-site parking is available for those arriving by car. The hotel also functions as a wedding venue for guests planning that kind of occasion.
Value for money and helpful, friendly staff are consistently mentioned as strengths of a stay here. That said, some visitors have found room upkeep inconsistent and occasional lapses in staff professionalism, so it suits travellers prioritising location and price over polish. With watersports and entertainment also listed nearby, it works well as a straightforward base for exploring Edinburgh.
What guests say
The room is outrageously expensive for what they offer — €450 per night. The beds are from another century, and the sockets and light switches are randomly placed around the room, along with unsafe windows that can easily be opened from the outside. But the worst part was the hygiene. We arrived in a hurry because we had a wedding to attend, and when we returned from the wedding, we found clear signs that either the bathroom had not been cleaned after previous guests or, even worse, that someone had used the bathroom while we were out at the wedding (photos attached). When I reported this to the staff, they threatened to contact the authorities because we complained 48 hours later (after we had already left and gotten off the plane). I feel completely scammed by this hotel.

Had a really pleasant stay at Adelphi Hotel. The room and bathroom were neat, tidy, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The location was great as well, only a short drive from the city centre. It was great value for money overall, and a very nice and comfortable experience.

I wasn't expecting much for a "low" priced hotel, but I got surprised to be upgraded to a bigger room! Sadly close to the entrance so kinda noisy. But nothing that stops you to sleep. The service is minimum, but enough to keep a room clean everyday. The bed are nice to sleep, comfy for the standing It would have been a 5 star, but missing for me 3 simple things : a hairdryer, a desk and curtains to hide the remnants of the lights that the windows blocker let through! Nothing important. The hotel is not that far from the tram that brings you quickly to downtown, some groceries around, it's perfect for tourism!

Great value for the price. It was cheaper than most hostels, even for a private room for two. The room and bathroom were clean and cozy. The furniture isn’t the newest, but it has a nice retro charm. The location is very good – after a 10-minute walk through the park, you can catch a tram straight to the city centre. The receptionist was also very kind and helpful.
