About Holiday Inn Edinburgh Zoo
Holiday Inn Edinburgh Zoo starts the day with a generous breakfast buffet, and there's a bar and restaurant on site for evening meals or a quiet drink, along with room service and packed lunches for guests heading out early. Kids' meals are available too, making it a practical base for families as much as business travellers or those in town for Murrayfield Stadium.
The hotel has 303 rooms spread across five floors, with family and accessible options, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and drinks in the room. Some guests have found the rooms could do with better upkeep and WiFi can be patchy, so it's worth setting expectations on the finer details even though the overall stay tends to represent good value. Facilities extend to a gym, spa and sauna, an indoor swimming pool, laundry service, meeting rooms and a wedding venue, plus lift access throughout.
Set on Corstorphine Road next to Edinburgh Zoo, the hotel has easy bus links into the city centre and is handy for golf courses, pubs and restaurants nearby. On-site parking is available for a charge. Staff are consistently noted as friendly and helpful, which counts for a lot when you're navigating a big hotel with this much going on.
What guests say
We had a brilliant 2 nights staying in this hotel, it was spacious, well set up with lots of space to lounge around, staff were friendly, it is an excellent location (easy bus stop outside to get into Edinburgh). We were able to access the room early and got parking fine. The World Cup was being shown. The breakfast was super tasty and fully stocked. There is a Starbucks which was great. The pool facilities were slightly tired/older/small but it was nice to have these facilities available. Views were amazing from the restaurant/bar. Overall a great experience!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel and were thoroughly impressed by the fantastic facilities available throughout our stay. Everything was clean, modern, and well-maintained. What truly made our visit unforgettable, however, was the incredible staff: Fior (Morning Breakfast Shift): She was incredibly kind and truly went above and beyond with her customer service today. Her warm energy made our morning. Rakesh (F&B): A huge thank you to Rakesh for his wonderful hospitality and exceptional service. He paid great attention to detail and made us feel incredibly welcome. Highly recommend this hotel, and we will definitely be back!

For the price, it was excellent value for money. The room was a bit dated and the carpet could probably be changed but it wasn't dirty or anything. Breakfast was pretty standard and my kids enjoyed the buffet. It was not particularly good quality but there was a good selection. Other than that, the food was actually really poor. Anything that had been fried was well overcooked and you could taste that the oil needed changed. It shouldn't be beyond them to cut the menu size and actually cook fresh food.

Brilliant hotel especially if you're wanting to visit Edinburgh zoo. Rooms are nice and clean. The Breakfast buffet has everything you normally get at a Breakfast buffet with the added Scottish items of slice (Square sausage) tattie scone (potato scone) and haggis! Highly recommend
