About The White Lady Wetherspoon
St Johns Road runs through this stretch of Edinburgh with Edinburgh Zoo close by and South Gyle a short distance away, giving The White Lady Wetherspoon a useful base for exploring the city without paying centre-of-town prices. Buses into the heart of Edinburgh are straightforward from here, and free parking is a genuine bonus in a city where that's rarely on offer.
Rooms are clean, modern and reasonably spacious, with en-suite bathrooms, family rooms available, free WiFi and drinks available in room. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar serve the affordable food and wide range of beers and ales that Wetherspoon pubs are known for, and breakfast is served on site. Luggage storage and a laundry service add practical convenience for anyone staying a few nights.
Staff are generally friendly and quick, though service standards can be inconsistent according to some visitors. Beyond the hotel, there's a golf course nearby along with pubs, restaurants and other eateries within easy reach, making it a straightforward, no-frills option for seeing Edinburgh Zoo and the surrounding area.

Called for breakfast on our way from Durham to Aberdeen this was a place in the middle of our journey. Pleased it had free parking (need to record vehicle reg at the bar). Scottish breakfast on the menu different to my usual choice but still nice. £26 for 4 breakfasts and 4 drinks is very good value for money. Plenty of seats available too.

Good solid friendly service and good prices as you'd expect. We got an Uber from hotel at top of the hill and number 26 Lothian back. Nice local ciders and ales (I recommend the Thistle Cross ginger cider at 3.4% light and hint of ginger) also the usual branded fare. Food good and promptly served. Just what was needed after a long drive and nice local buzz in background.

Booked in for the night, was told we were the room at the front, no problem from the bar noise, it was the constant traffic. Bar was busy but got seated, food and drinks good. Went to ladies toilet which wasn't the most pleasant, as someone had decided to stick their used sanitary product to the top of the toilet roll holder. Did report it. Second time we stayed here, room was at the side of the hotel, woken very early in the morning with the beer lorry dropping off and picking up the barrels.

Lovely Wetherspoon’s. Staff were friendly and helpful regardless of how busy it was, we went in on a Saturday afternoon and every table was in use. Same menu as all Weatherspoons
