About Innkeepers Lodge Edinburgh

Innkeepers Lodge Edinburgh suits travellers who want a straightforward, no-nonsense base rather than a fussy city-centre stay - road-trippers, families and anyone prioritising easy parking over boutique extras. The hotel sits alongside the Edinburgh West Toby Carvery, giving guests a ready-made restaurant and bar on the doorstep, with breakfast also served on site.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in-room and family rooms for those travelling with children, though some rooms are on the smaller side. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception add convenience, and free on-site parking makes it a practical choice for anyone arriving by car.

South Gyle is close by, and Edinburgh Zoo is within easy reach for a day out. There's also a golf course and fishing nearby, along with pubs, bars and other restaurants in the surrounding area, plus local entertainment options for evenings out.

The room was nice but small. Really airless in the heat. Double windows that opened oddly (interally sliding sideways, externally only the top window opened) resulting in no cool air throughput. The carvery was less than spectacular and the breakfast merely adequate. The location was great for our needs but I'd eat elsewhere.

The roast dinners here are lovely, you get what you pay for and the staff are always cheery, helpful, kind and down to earth. It's a great stop off and location after a big day out in the city (as it's not too far away) or after Edinburgh Zoo, needing a good meal. The chef always keeps the queue down well so there's never any long waits for food, although busy at times so it's well worth a trip for a good meal and a relaxing dine out.

Great room and service for the price. We got locked out of our room (technical problem with the door lock) and the service was very keen to solve the problem as quickly as possible. We even got free hot chocolate while waiting :D The friendly staff deserves an extra star just for them :)
