About Kingsway Guest House
Travellers after a straightforward, comfortable stay in Edinburgh rather than a big hotel experience will find Kingsway Guest House fits the bill. Set in a Victorian property in the Mayfield district, it suits those driving up, since free on-site parking (with an electric vehicle charge point) is a rare and useful perk in the city, while good transport links keep central Edinburgh within easy reach for those without a car.
Rooms are en-suite and family rooms are available, with drinks provided and views over the garden from some. Free Wi-Fi runs throughout, and there's 24 hour reception and luggage storage, so early arrivals or late departures aren't a problem. Breakfast is a proper full Scottish spread, a strong start to the day whether you're heading into the city or further afield.
The garden offers a quiet spot to sit outside the property itself, and the surrounding area has plenty on offer, from nearby pubs, bars and restaurants to cycling routes, golf, fishing and watersports for those wanting to get further out. It works well as a base for exploring Edinburgh at a relaxed pace, without the fuss of a larger establishment.

My husband and I spent 2 lovely nights with Lizzy and Gary at Kingsway Guest House. We thought this was one of our favorite stays while on a 3 week trip through Scotland. We were welcomed, checked in and settled in our room then with the handy map (supplied by them) of the neighborhoold identifing restaurants, roads and bus stops, off we went to look for dinner. This was really helpful both nights in addition to suggestions by Lizzy or Gary. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. They provide thoughtful touches in both the bathroom and bedroom. There are plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The bed was comfortable and linens were nice. They supply sensative skin soaps which I appreciated. Breakfasts were really tasty. I love all the little presentation touches. For me, I fell in love with the poached eggs! They were perfect! The location of Kingsway was a plus for us - not in the fray of the central city yet only a mile away - close enough to walk or catch a bus just around the corner. When back in Edinburgh, we will return to Kingsway Guest House.

Hands down one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed. My sister and I spent five nights at Kingsway and enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. The couple that owns and runs it are very kind and very knowledgeable. It truly felt like a home away from home. We felt the B&B was in a great location, as it was only a short walk to many delicious restaurants and a quick walk to the nearest bus stop if you prefer to get around that way. I would recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone.

Absolutely lovely experience staying at Kingsway Guesthouse recently. Breakfast was wonderful, our room was great and Lizzie and Gary took great care of us. The neighborhood it's located in is nice and quiet with lots of wonderful restaurants and pubs near by. The Royal Mile is within walking distance and there's also a bus stop near by so it's easy to get wherever you want to go. If I am lucky enough to return to Edinburgh, I would absolutely stay here again.
