About The Royal Scots Club Edinburgh

Free on-site parking is not something you expect to find in Edinburgh's New Town, but The Royal Scots Club Edinburgh offers exactly that alongside its 25 rooms on Abercromby Place. Set within a Georgian terrace, the hotel keeps a clubby, traditional feel while giving guests modern comforts such as air conditioning, coffee machines and robes in the rooms.

Breakfast is a particular strength, with both a self-service spread and cooked options served each morning, and the restaurant and bar are on hand for the rest of the day. There's also a garden, an indoor swimming pool, meeting rooms and concierge service, making the property as suited to a wedding party or small conference as to an overnight stay. Staff are consistently described as helpful and welcoming, which shapes the general atmosphere of the place.

The New Town location means the main sights of Edinburgh are within walking distance, with pubs, restaurants and other entertainment nearby, and Edinburgh Zoo is also within reach for a day out. For anyone driving into the city, the combination of central address and free parking is a genuine practical advantage.

We are a family of four with two teenagers. The family suite was perfect. A double bed with two single beds and lots of space to be able to move around and store our luggage. But dresser was nice so we could unpack from our suitcases for the week. The atmosphere is lovely and very authentic Scottish experience. The rooms were quiet and well appointed with coffee tea hot chocolate and cookies each day and housekeeping did an amazing job keeping the room tidy. We were here in a heat wave and did find the room a little warm at night, but a fan was provided and opening the windows helped.

Nice place to land, but definitely needs some upgrades. Carpet is worn and it was incredibly hot the nights we stayed (no ac and the windows don't allow much air flow). The bed was comfortable.

We booked this and like all old buildings with hotels, it is a bit of a rabbit warren. The room we had was spaceous, the beds were comfortable and we were on the B floor. Nothing to see, but cool in the hot weather. The bar was just up the stairs from the room and frequently open. The Breakfast was fantastic, getting the Full Scottish. We were close to the Royal Mile ( but it was all up hill). We will stay again.

Very happy with our stay at the Royal Scots in Edinburgh. The location was fantastic, and we walked to most places we wanted to get to from there. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
