Cowdray is a fab place to visit. There's a shop, deli (not cheap, but great produce) and restaurant, where we had a delicious breakfast. We had a very warm greeting upon entering and then were served by some extremely helpful and friendly young waiting staff (especially as we arrived at 11.25, just before breakfast orders were finishing). We then had a lovely walk to the ruins and along the river, but there are other areas to explore. We'll definitely be back, thank you.

Cowdray is a lovely place to visit and Midhurst a typical and very pleasant English country town. The farm shop will not be considered cheap, but the quality of products with many meat and vegetables coming direct from the estate is undeniable. You can join with a loyalty card for extra benefits. The cafe serves excellent quality food (again, often from the estate) and is not expensive as far as I am concerned.

Top of the range food perfectly laid out. Great for a visit lovely walks and grounds. Cafe busy but didn't eat there. Food looks exquisite but prepare to pay extra for it.
