About Holiday Inn Express Folkestone Channel Tunnel
Breakfast at Holiday Inn Express Folkestone Channel Tunnel starts early enough to suit anyone catching LeShuttle, and it's counted among the better parts of a stay here, alongside a restaurant, bar and snack bar for the rest of the day. Packed lunches and kids' meals are available too, and drinks can be brought straight to the room for those who'd rather not head down.
The hotel has 100 rooms spread across four floors, all en-suite with air conditioning, and family and accessible rooms are available. Extras such as a lift, luggage storage and business facilities with meeting rooms make it workable for both families and those travelling for work. On-site parking is chargeable, and while convenient, it's worth budgeting for.
Cheriton Parc puts guests near Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel terminal, useful for anyone crossing to the continent. Locally there's golf, fishing and watersports to fill spare time, plus pubs and restaurants nearby for evenings out. Staff at the property are consistently noted as helpful, and pets are welcome.
What guests say
Although you get a standard chain hotel room with no frills or extras, what sets this hotel apart are the staff. They were about as helpful as it's possible to be without going over the top. The parking is good (I have a Tesla but didn't need to use the supercharger but useful to know it's there as Eurotunnel ones can be full) although £6 for 24hrs is a bit steep for hotel guests - the full £12 would have been outrageous. The free breakfast was adequate but they need to urgently revise their scrambled egg which is almost inedible. So. 4* for the hotel but 5* for the team

All the staff are friendly and helpful. In particular, Kanisha who was very patient with us oldies at check-in and Cameron for his good humour and help. Happy to stay again and recommend for any one using LeShuttle. Breakfast has a huge choice and was most enjoyable. Staff name badges need to be in a larger font size so they can be read easily!

Great stay! The only issue is the beds feel really small for two adults. It did affect our sleep a little as we're used to a king size bed and the beds here feel like a twin/small double. Other than that, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the hotel is very dog friendly. Breakfast was great and varied choice although they had no eggs due to a supplier issue. Location is great! Would have liked a smart TV to watch Netflix but we survived!

The staff are excellent — consistently REALLY friendly, efficient, and a real credit to the place. The rooms are also exactly as they should be: clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Perfect place for a one night stop before catching the EuroTunnel. The food, however, is something else entirely. Appreciating that this is a Holiday Inn Express and therefore likely driven by a standardised offering, what’s served feels less like a menu and more like a set of obligations being fulfilled. Nothing is actually wrong with it — it’s cooked, it’s edible, it arrives as described — but it manages to remove almost every trace of enjoyment from the act of eating. It’s the culinary equivalent of ticking a box. There’s no sense that anyone involved — designing it or preparing it — particularly cares about food beyond meeting the minimum requirement. The result is a series of options that are neither good nor bad, just relentlessly forgettable. And to be clear, this isn’t some lofty comparison with fine dining — it’s simply that I’m heading over to the mainland tomorrow, and even an unremarkable meal in France or Italy will almost certainly have more thought, flavour, and enjoyment behind it than anything offered here. If food matters to you even slightly, you may want to make alternative arrangements. I certainly found myself looking forward to leaving for the mainland tomorrow, purely for the opportunity to eat something with a bit of character.
