The Ffestiniog Railway runs right past this cottage, and from the balcony you can watch steam trains heading toward Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caernarfon. Black Rock Sands and Borth y Gest are a few minutes' drive away. Nearby villages worth visiting include Criccieth with its castle, the Italianate architecture of Portmeirion, and Beddgelert. The area has become known for adventure activities: Blaenau Ffestiniog hosts Europe's largest zip wire zone, underground trampolining in a slate cavern, and downhill mountain bike trails.
Ffestiniog View is a terraced property on the South Snowdon Wharf Estate, built on the site of old slate wharves that served the railway. It has two bedrooms—one double and one twin—a shower room, and a separate toilet. Upstairs, the living room opens onto the balcony through French doors, and the kitchen is equipped for self-catering, with a dishwasher and washing machine. Electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included. There is parking for one car on site. A shop is 200 yards away and a restaurant or pub is 100 yards away. The property is non-smoking.
