Abbey Church 14

Abbey Church 14 occupies the first floor of a Grade A listed former monastery in Fort Augustus, on the southern shore of Loch Ness. The conversion has kept original sandstone pillars and the historic cloisters walkway that connects the apartments, creating an unusual backdrop to a modern holiday let. The building sits within the Highland Club Official grounds, where guests can use the swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and tennis court (book facilities in advance as they're shared with other residents).

The apartment sleeps four across two bedrooms: a king-size bed in the main suite with its own bathroom, and two single beds in the second room served by a second bathroom. The open-plan living space combines a seating area, dining table for six and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and the usual essentials. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are covered. A sofa bed in the living room offers flexible extra sleeping if needed. There's a private sitting-out area with garden furniture and a barbecue, plus parking for two cars on site. No smoking inside.

The location works for exploring the Great Glen Way or just settling in to walk the hills and glens nearby. Fort Augustus itself has restaurants and shops, and the loch is right there. The apartment is upstairs with no lift available, so it suits those comfortable with stairs.
