Abbots Rest is a second-floor apartment within a converted abbey in Fort Augustus, suited to families and larger groups after a comfortable Highland base. It sleeps up to eight across three bedrooms—a master with king bed and ensuite, a double, and a twin—plus a sofa bed in the second sitting room. Two bathrooms serve the property. The open-plan ground consists of a fully equipped kitchen with granite worktops, dining area, and living space with wooden floors and views towards the Cloister Gardens; the second sitting room offers a quieter retreat. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and utilities are included, and there is on-site parking for two cars.
The apartment is part of The Highland Club Official, where guests have access to a swimming pool, sauna, and children's playground (some facilities require advance booking and are shared with other properties). Fort Augustus itself sits on Loch Ness where it meets the Caledonian Canal, with shops, restaurants and bars minutes away. The area works as a base for exploring the Highlands, or simply for time spent on the loch. The property is reached by stairs and does not permit smoking.

Loved this place. Beautiful old monastery with swimming pool, games room and giant chess. We stayed in the Sacristy and it had everything you could possibly need with direct access to Loch Ness. The bed were super comfy too! 100% recommend.

Not a guest here. I'm just here to leave my favorite picture of my holiday. The building looks magical like it's part of Hogwarts Castle. It was a slight shame that the added buildings are not in the same style as the rest of the monastery.
