About Bowmore Hotel

The Bowmore Hotel sits in the middle of the island's main town, a short walk from Bowmore Distillery and the harbour, and has been run by the same family for many years. Its eleven bedrooms are each individually furnished with hand-crafted wooden pieces and fitted with en-suite wet rooms, giving the hotel a warmer, more personal feel than its central location might suggest.

The hotel's whisky bar is a genuine draw in its own right, stocking well over 1,800 different Islay and Jura single malts, many of them distillery exclusives unavailable elsewhere. The restaurant sources produce locally where possible and runs a changing list of daily specials alongside its main menu.

Being in the centre of Bowmore, the hotel is within walking distance of the town's shops, the harbour and Bowmore Distillery itself, and makes a convenient, sociable base for exploring the whole island, with Port Charlotte, Port Ellen and Port Askaig all a short drive away.

It was an amasing evening! The oysters tasted fantastic. I liked the styling of the Restaurant as well. Everywhere the great looking wood furniture. But the biggest surprise was after the diner. Thank you so much Peter, that I could try a whisky which ist as old as I am! It was amasing!!!

Top notch place to spend time on beautiful Islay. We booked directly for two nights and the service right from the start has been perfect! It's tucked in on Jamieson Street and once we entered we realised how popular and busy the bar and restaurant were with local and visiting people. The ensuite rooms are a delight with tasteful decoration and the view from the terrace is awesome! The food at breakfast and dinner was faultless with lovely staff supervised by the amazing Pete Jnr, taking orders, advising on whisky tasting and generally looking after everyone. Thanks for the great suggestions where to visit on the island and your welcoming kindness!

We had a lovely stay at Bowmore Hotel. The location is great, the food was very good, and everyone was friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Peter’s whisky selection was particularly impressive :) This trip was a birthday surprise for my husband, and choosing Bowmore Hotel turned out to be a great decision. We really enjoyed our time on Islay and were very pleased with our stay. We would happily recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the island. Niki & Milan from Hungary :)

I honestly can’t fault one thing about the bowmore hotel. The room was really good. Loved the decor, beds super comfy and the bathroom/wet room was cool. What made it for me though was the atmosphere and how welcoming the staff were. They couldn’t do enough for you. Their food was amazing and their whiskey collection was incredible. Ive never seen anything like it. We will definitely be back next year hopefully for next years whiskey festival.
