Kintra Farm Camping

I camped here for a week, and I loved the adventure of it. It's rather affordable, and the restroom and kitchen facilities are very convenient. It is definitely camping. I stayed on top of a knoll because of how beautiful I thought it was, but I recommend staying down between the knolls somewhere that blocks the wind a bit because it's wildly windy at night. I really loved it here for many reasons, but you have to love camping or you may be a bit uncomfortable.

If only there were an option to rate the place and the customer service separately! The setting is amazing! Beautiful dunes to camp in with amazing views and a massive beach to enjoy with blue water and plenty of driftwood for fires. This really is an ideal camping venue for nearly everyone. Unfortunately the customer service and facilities are shocking. The owner was incredibly rude and unwelcoming, scolding our party several times and insisting we explain to her where we were camping before we had even seen the dunes to find where would be the best position for our tents. It seems we were not the only guests to feel this way as we were even warned by another guest upon our arrival to expect a cold reception. The facilities are not up to standard either unfortunately. The showers and toilets are old and dated with not enough space and not enough dry areas for a comfortable experience. We were even told that it’s 50p/15min to charge a phone etc. If you can put up with the initial welcome and poor facilities then this place is worth a few quiet nights and you could definitely enjoy a swim and a good fire - after check in you won’t see the owner again. But unfortunately the service is just too bad to warrant anything other than one star.

The location of this campsite is amazing. You are literally camped just above the beach in the dune, the sea is just a few meters away. The facilities are a little basic, but I would say perfectly adequate. Before staying here you do need to consider the weather and what sort of tent you are taking. When we were there there was a constant 30mph wind coming off the sea for about 12 hours. Various family tents (which lets face it are designed for a flat campsite with minimal wind) were in a right state/destroyed, where as those turning up with proper backpacking/mountaineering tents had no issues what so ever. A lot of people slept in cars! If its calm you won't have an issue, but bear in mind heading west there is nothing for 3000 miles. Clearly a camper van would be a great option.

This place is as close as you can get to wild camping...without actually wild camping. There are awesome seaside beach campsites. I wish I could get a site like this more often. The one downside is if you don't have a bike or a car, it's a bit out of the way. Convenient amenities such as wash up area, showers and toilets. Laundry available, although pricey. Camping rates are tough to determine, but they seem to be trying to make them clearer. We paid £16 per night for two ppl plus 2 person tent with no awnings. To the reviewers who complain about the rules, if you don't like them don't stay. If you follow them and treat the owners respectfully, they are incredibly friendly.
