Kilchoman Apartment occupies one of three architect-designed flats carved from Port Charlotte Hall, a Grade-listed building completed in 1830. The restoration has kept the property's Victorian bones while adding modern comfort—you'll find original character alongside contemporary fixtures throughout. The apartment spreads across two levels: downstairs is a generous open-plan living and dining space with a well-equipped kitchen that overlooks countryside, while a galleried bedroom and ensuite sit upstairs. There's an enclosed garden with outdoor furniture where you can take in the air between explorations.
Port Charlotte itself is a conservation village on the Rhinns of Islay with a sandy beach, white-stone cottages and a handful of local shops including a post office, a museum and a wildlife centre. A hotel, restaurant and café serve the village, with another restaurant and bar just outside at Port Mor. The village sits on the island's quieter west side, within reach of distilleries, walking routes and the kind of open landscape that draws people to the Hebrides. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and WiFi are provided. No smoking indoors.
