Islay's distilleries, beaches and bird life are reason enough to visit this Hebridean island, and Bowmore village puts you within reach of them all. Ashley Cottage sits on a quiet back street yet steps from the village centre—the distillery is metres away, restaurants and shops a short walk, and both ferry ports roughly 10 miles' drive. The village itself borders Loch Indaal, where the sandflats draw wildlife worth watching.
The cottage is all on ground floor: a living and dining room with Freeview TV and electric fire that opens through patio doors into a conservatory, a small but complete kitchen, a bedroom with a 5ft kingsize bed, and a bathroom with bath and shower. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. The real draw is the south-facing enclosed garden at the rear, sheltered and furnished for sitting out. Parking for one car is on site.
One small dog stays free. No smoking. Ground-level access means there are 5 steps to the entrance.
