The beach is a short walk away, and Shanklin's seafront amusements, cafés and restaurants are close by. The flat sits on the lower ground floor of Portman House, on the eastern side of the island between Shanklin and Sandown. You get three bedrooms (one double, one with two singles, one with bunks), a bathroom with bath and shower, and a living room with French doors opening to an enclosed garden with patio. The kitchen has an electric cooker, induction hob, microwave and washing machine. Parking for one car is on site.
The beach itself has shallow, clear water suitable for paddleboarding, kayaking and surfing, with an instructional school nearby. The cliff-path access is via steps close to the property. A sea wall walk runs between Sandown and Shanklin along the esplanade, lined with beach huts, benches and a café with barbecue facilities. Shanklin's old village has thatched pubs, tea rooms and craft shops; the seafront adds amusements, crazy golf and waterfront eateries. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The property is non-smoking.
