About The Podworks Hotel

Henry Street sits right in the thick of Liverpool's city centre, a short walk from Albert Dock and the Cavern Club, which makes The Podworks Hotel a handy base for exploring the waterfront and the music heritage trail without needing a car - there's no parking on site, but you won't need it here.

The hotel has 19 rooms, kept for adults only, with air conditioning and drinks available in the room. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are cleaned to a good standard, though some rooms are compact and lack windows, so it's worth bearing that in mind if natural light matters to you. Staff are on hand to help throughout your stay, and there's a bar and a snack bar on site along with free WiFi and luggage storage for early arrivals or late departures.

Beyond the hotel, Henry Street and the surrounding streets are well stocked with pubs, restaurants and other eateries, and there's plenty of entertainment nearby for evenings out. It works well as a straightforward, well-priced place to sleep between days spent taking in the city centre and the Albert Dock waterfront.

Room was really small only suited one person definitely not a double, as 2 of us in room felt claustrophobic. Bed was hard and high off ground, im 5ft4 and I had to climb up onto bed to get in. Air conditioning was good but can be quite noisy if kept on through night. The noise coming from hallway and other rooms kept wakening me through night. First morning no hot water so had to take a cold shower, spoke to staff and was sorted for the rest of the stay. Staff was very friendly and to be fair always helpful. The best thing was that you are in walking distant to concert square and the Albert docks. Our room was 3 flights of stairs down so wouldnt suit someone with mobility issues. Would definitely go back to liverpool as it is a beautiful city but would definitely stay in a different hotel. Hotel is clean but not for me

Nice clean room, good quality bathroom and shower pressure and size. Rooms are not sound proof you get work up by people walking past all times if night. Air cons good but noisy. Good location tho. May use again.

Do not stay here!! (Gave everything 5 stars so this review would show up for people to read instead of being hidden by an algorithm) Absolutely terrible hotel. Smelly, dirty and customer service is disgusting. I reviewed the place honestly on booking.com (if you want to read it, it was reviewed on the 2nd August) I used to stay here all the time but it's gone downhill massively. What shocked me more was the customer service. Staff were rude and unhelpful except one woman (didn't get her name, she was a local woman though) I'm absolutely disgusted to see the way they handle their reviews on booking.com They can't handle the feedback and so they post lies in return! I went back on a lot of the negative reviews and all are responded to very rudely and with lies. Saying things like people urinated on the bed and made it bloody etc. They told me I apparently ripped the silicone from the tap and now it's leaking. All absolute lies. All because I said about someone else's booger that hadn't been cleaned off the underside of the tap. Telling us we checked out late, firstly they got the day wrong we checked out so they clearly don't check anything to verify. I reviewed the place as soon as we left on the Sunday. And also we went off the time booking.com told us check out was. (11am) If you want to know what the podworks is really like and how you'll be treated, trust me and go on all the negative reviews on booking.com and see how they speak to people and the lies they spit out. Disgusting place and disgusting staff.

We stayed here recently for a overnight trip. Location was fantastic and the reception staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room itself is very clean and well put together however it’s really noisy as all the floors are hard flooring including the hallway which means that people coming back after a night out, make a lot of noise and the room itself had two small green LEDs in the ceiling presumably for exits which were so bright we couldn’t sleep very well the bathroom is clean however was a bit damaged and going into the shower was a challenge due to the small door opening. There are better options nearby.
