What diners say
The food here is outstanding: rich, elegant, and full of character. Every dish felt special with a real festival of flavours, and the spices were perfectly balanced and on point. Service was great too: friendly, attentive and made the whole evening smooth. A proper treat if you’re after proper Persian cooking in London. We’ll definitely be back soon!

I had been looking forward to trying Berenjak Borough for ages and was so pleased when I finally managed to get a reservation. If I'm honest, I was slightly worried it might be one of those places that's all hype and trend, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Yes, it's expensive, but in my opinion it's absolutely worth it. We started with the Sangak bread and Mirza Ghasemi, which was an incredible combination. The bread was fresh and perfect for scooping up the smoky, flavourful dip. For mains, we had the Jujeh Kebab Tond and the Chenjeh Kebab, and both were outstanding. The seasoning, the quality of the grill and the depth of flavour were exceptional. And the tomato, outstanding. Everything tasted beautifully cooked and full of character. The restaurant itself is quite small, but our counter seats were perfect for a party of two. Service was efficient and the food arrived surprisingly quickly without feeling rushed. One thing to note: the kebab portions are very generous, so don't get too carried away ordering as it can quickly become a lot of food! A fantastic meal from start to finish. I'd happily return and can see why Berenjak has such a loyal following.

We had a wonderful experience here when we visited for my birthday lunch. We ordered from the set menu, which was great value and the food was superb. The side plates were packed full of flavour and the bread unbelievably good (how does bread taste so good? 😅) The grilled meats were so juicy, tender and full of flavour - I’d say the best I’ve had so far. Cocktails were great and they gave me a birthday ice cream to finish off. Top tip, if you’re finding it hard to book a table, treat yourself, take an afternoon off work and enjoy a late lunch - it’s a bit easier to get a table and you get the bonus value of the set menu.

The food had been so hyped up to me before arriving in London, so I’ll admit I went in a little skeptical. On top of that, getting a reservation was surprisingly frustrating for a group of just 2 adults and 3 kids — especially when one of them is only 5! This was my second trip to London, and I made sure to book well in advance because I really wanted to see if Barenjak was actually worth all the buzz. Thankfully, it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful (for some reason I was not expecting that). When the food arrived, you could tell a lot of care went into every dish. The meats were incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor- perfectly seasoned! The rice was aromatic, and even the drinks were excellent. Every plate that came to the table disappeared within minutes — even the kids enjoyed it, which says a lot. The decor was was a bit meh but it felt genuinely Persian. The whole experience felt warm and authentic rather than overly trendy. In a city full of overhyped restaurants, Barenjak genuinely delivered. Definitely one of the standout meals from our trip to London, the perfect choice for Eid Lunch. Definitely somewhere I’d happily return to.
