What diners say

Richard Ferries

Having been loyal lunchtime customers for over 16 years, we have come to expect a good standard of service and food. Not this time. We decided to sit outside for a change. The tables were so close together it was difficult to get seated. (Crammed in for Wimbledon and the World cup on the big (noisy) screen. We ordered a Camembert and Mushroom Galette. No idea what they brought, but it wasn't what was ordered. We also ordered two medium sirloin steaks. I've never tasted anything like it in my life. First, it was very nearly still mooing, second, it was full of gristle and fat . Inedible. The replacement Camembert and Mushroom arrived and guess what, it was STILL wrong. Eventually, after much discussion, the manager agreed to refund the cost, and supplied a plate of chips, as the other two diners had "finished " eating. We have always had good service and the correct order in the upstairs gallery restaurant from every staff member over the years. It's very sad that a much loved lunch venue will never again receive our custom.

Visiting The George felt like walking straight into history. It’s a stunning, old pub with an incredible atmosphere that makes you feel the age of the building.A few things to note for your visit: Space: The seating area is quite limited and it gets very crowded quickly, so be prepared for a bustling environment. Location: It is perfectly situated very close to Borough Market, making it a great spot to grab a drink after exploring the stalls. If you love historic pubs with character, this is a must-visit, just try to get there early to snag a spot!

Good place for some beers to go with your food and watch Live Sports. We were entertained with Live F1 streaming of Barcelona Race. In the evening you could expect to watch live Soccer including the current World Cup!

A great spot right next to London Bridge with a really nice atmosphere and classic London pub character. Service was friendly, the setting was lively without feeling overwhelming, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area for a true British pub experience!
