About The Royal Horseguards Hotel
Westminster and the River Thames are both within easy reach of The Royal Horseguards Hotel, making it a solid base for exploring central London on foot, with the surrounding streets also offering nearby pubs, bars and restaurants for evenings out.
The hotel itself occupies a Victorian building that once served as a secret service headquarters, and its 282 rooms bring that history up to date with modern furnishings, air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms; some rooms look out over the river. Facilities extend to a restaurant, bar, gym, garden and lift access, alongside room service, laundry service and concierge support. Business travellers are catered for with meeting rooms and business services, while accessible and family rooms are also available.
Guests can expect breakfast, free WiFi and drinks in room as standard, with valet parking and luggage storage covering the practical side of a stay. The hotel also operates as a wedding venue, giving it a dual role as both a place to stay and a setting for events, all within walking distance of the Thames.

A weekend celebration stay 7 & 8 February 2026 Checking in on Saturday Front of House Manager Eliecer Moreno welcomed us. Eliecer couldn’t do enough for us, and upon discovering we were celebrating upgraded us to a Kingsize Deluxe. He was extremely polite and cared about our stay. Eliecer surprised us later on with a bottle of bubbles & card left in our room. We checked out on Sunday morning to head into Covent Garden, over dinner we decided to stay another night returning to the hotel having booked a classic double online. To our delight we were again spoilt whilst re checking in by front of house staff member Aveena who upgraded our room to a Garden View. The view did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived at the entrance to the hotel, greeted by Doorman Osmany ( Incredibly warm, friendly & polite ) to staff in Equus Bar & The Green Parlour for breakfast our stay couldn’t have been better. We would highly recommend a stay in this hotel. It is clean, well kept and comfortable. I have already reviewed our fabulous Singapore Slings made by ASA in Equus via Tripadvisor. Every member of staff made us very welcome. Very happy to see Eliecer when we finally checked out on Monday morning. 5 Stars

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location is excellent, right by the River Thames and within walking distance of many of London's main attractions, including Soho, Buckingham Palace, and several theatres. The hotel itself is charming and set in an iconic building with plenty of character. I booked one of the larger rooms, which was spacious and comfortable, with a large bathroom featuring a bathtub. The hotel bar was also very cozy and a great place to relax in the evening. The service was good, although it was quite low-touch. Staff were friendly and helpful when approached, but there was very little proactive interaction, especially at check-in. There was also some traffic noise from outside, which may be worth considering if you're a light sleeper. Overall, it's a charming hotel in a fantastic location, and I would happily stay here again.

The staff are beyond incredible. They really want to ensure you never have to lift a finger for anything. Rooms were nice and even had alternative country plugs, easy to turn off all lights in room in multiple areas, heated floor and towel rack, view of the Thames beautiful. For us it was totally a 5 star through and through. Again I can't stress how impeccable the staff are trully some of the best in all of our travels. Can't wait to stay there again. Also super great location for walking to numerous sites and Soho.
