What diners say
Great atmosphere; the owner is energetic and loves to talk to customers. Almost the entire menu can be made gluten free, and the gluten free person in my party was happy with their dish. The food was more of a mixed bag. The pizza was good, the crust and dough in particular I found delicious. However, I was disappointed with the pasta. For being homemade, I found the pasta a bit soft and the tomato sauce was also somewhat bland. Overall if you need a gluten free dinner this is a great option otherwise good but not exceptional.

This lovely little Italian restaurant was such a great find. The place itself is quite small, which actually makes it feel very cozy and welcoming. The waiter with glasses who looked after us was amazing, friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. What made the experience even more special was that the owner was there and personally greeted us, which added such a nice touch and made us feel truly welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was top-notch and clearly made with care and great ingredients. It’s the kind of place where you can really taste the quality. Just a small tip: the restaurant closes at 2 pm and then reopens around 5 pm, so it’s best to check the timing or make a reservation before you go. A fantastic experience. If you enjoy authentic Italian food in a cozy setting with great service, this place is definitely worth visiting.

This Italian is absolutely phenomenal. The food is delicious, the staff are very helpful and importantly, they take allergies seriously. My partner has coeliac disease so we have struggled to find an Italian restaurant that can cater to his gluten allergy. The owner of Cotto has coeliac disease himself so he is fully aware of cross contamination etc. My partner felt so safe eating here and we will definitely be coming back! Thank you 🖤

This old school restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and benefits from a great location across the street from Lambeth North tube. The service and atmosphere is the main selling point here. All of the staff were friendly and attentive, in particular the older man who I assume is the owner, he was always ready with a joke or flirty comment and made our experience a memorable one. We came without a reservation and were seated immediately but there were new customers arriving all the time and there was a busy and bustling feel. I see why tourists would flock here. The wine was good, I loved that there’s a bread service, but the food wasn’t too impressive. If I came here again I would definitely order something different - I ordered crepes and they weren’t evenly seasoned and felt a bit bland and disappointing.
