What visitors say
Had the best bank holiday weekend at Macdonald’s Farm Padstow. Amazing restaurant, small farm animals, lovely play park with stunning views. Very local to beaches and an all round good location for sightseeing. Pitches were well maintained alongside the shower facilities, all kept extremely clean. Very trendy campsite, everything you need is on site. Have to mention the amazing staff who are so friendly and accommodating especially the lovely Rosie who always greeted guests with a smile. Thank you for a fantastic stay ❤️

We had an amazing camping stay at Macdonald’s Farm and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing Cornwall getaway. The location is fantastic, with the beautiful Porthcothan Beach just a couple of minutes away, making it the perfect base for exploring the coast. Our pitch was a great size, giving us plenty of space and making our stay really comfortable. The whole site is beautifully maintained, with excellent facilities offering everything you could need, from clean showers and toilet facilities to all the little extras that make camping easier and more enjoyable. The staff were absolutely wonderful, so friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. The 10pm quiet policy is something we really appreciated as it creates such a peaceful and respectful atmosphere. The team do a great job of making sure everyone follows it, meaning you can enjoy a great night’s sleep. The Smock House is a brilliant addition to the site, with a great selection of food, a lovely atmosphere, and live music at the weekends. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy an evening without having to leave the farm. Thank you to everyone at Macdonald’s Farm for making our stay so enjoyable. We had a fantastic time, and we will definitely be back!

Just returned from our 5th stay at Macdonald’s Farm. We will be back… hoping to be back again this summer! The atmosphere is fantastic. The site is clean and well maintained. Our pitch this time was 73. Electric standard pitch. Can’t fault it. The pizzas are superb. The farmer’s breakfast will rival any in Cornwall. The staff are always friendly. I noticed this this-morning when busy and dealing with needy guests in front of us in the queue. The walk to the beach is worth it, 10 mins there… prob 30 on way back. Fryer tucks fish and chips in St Merryn 10 mins drive is a must. Live music last night was an acoustic duo, which was great while we played table tennis. We brought three other families with us this time and all said they’d return in a heartbeat. 👍🏻👍🏻

This place is like a great campsite, on steroids! Particularly aimed towards the family experience; as a couple with a dog we opted towards the relative peace of Mawgies! Built within its private enclosure, as part of the 'glamping' option, Mawgies offers something a little more special, away from the close-quarter experience of the standard camping areas. It's not completely private, as anyone is free to walk reasonably close to your private area to view the lovely alpacas, and the staff accommodation is right next to you behind a staggered fence line. However, with its own garden area, fire pit, and wood-fired hot tub, the self-contained wooden hut is nicely appointed and finished with its own en-suite shower facilities. Personally, we had a couple of little issues with our stay, hence the unfortunate slight drop in rating, but these issues were eventually managed rather well. The main building is really nicely put together, the bar is reasonably priced, and the food is of a high standard, although a little expensive in my opinion. There is a shop near the reception, offering all of the little supply refreshes you might need. Parking is ample, the site is easy to find and well surfaced throughout. The added bonus is the great array of music they have on over weekends, to bring a nice chilled vibe later in the evenings. Finally, it's location is perfect for those wishing to visit the beach, or hit the coast path, with some of the most beautiful sections right on its doorstep. It really is a cracking place. 👌
