What visitors say
The National Maritime Museum is very good and well worth a visit. It has lots to see across three different sections, and the way it presents different time periods gives the whole place a strong sense of movement through history. What makes the museum especially enjoyable is that it does not feel flat or repetitive. Each section has its own character, and together they give a clear sense of different timelines and how maritime history developed over time. That makes it easy to stay engaged for a good stretch without feeling overwhelmed. The merchandise store is also good, which is always a nice bonus after a museum visit. It has the kind of selection that lets you take home something fitting without it feeling too generic. For visitors who like to browse after exploring, it adds to the overall experience nicely. It is definitely a place to visit, especially if you are a fan of Dylan Thomas. The museum’s atmosphere and historical depth make it a worthwhile stop, and it leaves you with both knowledge and a strong impression of the maritime world.

Visited today with my 2 boys ages 2/4 they loved it! The play area is perfect. We adults had a great time there also! The garden and bees were a highlight! Felt very community based and very child friendly. Baby changing and a nursing room! Lots of interactive parts for the kids which they enjoyed. We didn't visit cafe but it looked lovely. Lots of free activities for the community also advertised. Shame we dont live close by! Will definitely visit in the summer!

One of the best museums that we have visited. Is is well organized and managed. They have a very good preservation and presentation of many artifacts. Learn a lot more about the history of Dwansea and Wales. Thanks a lot to the National Waterfront Museum

Very well maintained. Neat and clean. Have items from as old as 16th century and after. Some stones were almost 2000 years old. Really enjoyed it.
